Forest by Day is inspired by the ancient, untouched beauty of Inchagoill Island, a secluded haven on Lough Corrib. This vibrant abstract landscape captures the shifting light that filters through the dense woodland, where history and nature intertwine. Layers of glowing green and golden yellow evoke the dappled sunlight dancing on moss-covered paths, while deep blues hint at the silent presence of towering trees and the ever-changing reflections of the lake.

Rooted in my connection to the landscapes of Galway, this painting embodies the mystical, dreamlike atmosphere of Inchagoill - an island rich with legend, where centuries-old ruins stand hidden among the trees. Forest by day bridges the seen and the unseen, inviting the viewer into a world where time slows, and nature whispers its ancient stories.

The boughs lean close - do they recall -
Soft footfalls lost, a vanished call?
Where monks once traced their holy lines,
Now shadows shift in golden thrall.
